To celebrate the end of Winter Semester we went to Arches! I’ve wanted to go since I did a report on it in grade school. Sean had been once before, but it was fun to go as a family.
It was beautiful. It was a lot of fun to see and talk to the people who had come from all over the world.
The arch pictured below was one of my favorites. We rested in the shade under it as it was quite hot that day.
We had accidentally forgot Nathan’s shoes so we had to purchase a new pair in the nearby tourist town.
The is the Provo Library Children’s Storybook festival. This year the guest author was Gail Carson Levine. She was one of my favorite author’s growing up.
It was a lot of fun. They had live owls, a may pole, professional juggler, cookies, crafts, etc. Here is the mouse from If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. Everyone who helped put on the event was dressed in Renaissance clothing. The juggler used swords, glass balls, and other cool things.
Nathan loves to go see the ducks on campus. Here we were on our way to go tour the campus bell tower.
A person in our ward took the class in order to play the bell tower and then offered to give whoever wanted to see it a tour. Here is the view from the top.
She even played it for us while we were up there. It was really cool. Nathan has talked about the bells ever since.
After the Bell Tower, we went back to see the ducks. Nathan fell in the pond, but Daddy saved him. It did make him scared to go swimming though. It took all Summer for him to get used to it again.

Near the 4th of July there was a Colonial Faire. I think I must burned dinner!

And Nathan must of just been too cute. There was a program where you could walk through as someone who came through Ellis Island. They did a really good job with it.
Nathan’s 2nd Birthday! He’s getting so big already!

We had a little party with some of his friends with popsicles and a punch-bowl game to win prizes.

We made him a chocolate cake and put construction trucks on it. He was so excited he kept sneaking in the fridge and sticking his fingers in the frosting.
He got a really cute, bashful smile when we sang him Happy Birthday. That is his favorite song and he will sing it to us sometimes on random days. He also gets very excited about the candles.
We also frequently visited the splash pad this summer. There are several good ones around Provo. The kids love them.
Costco is another one of our favorite places to go to get out of the house. The kids love the snacks.
Popsicles for FHE! Another favorite treat. We had fun running through a sprinkler for the activity.
Nathan’s birthday at Grandma Tolson’s house! His face is kind of turned down, but you can sort of see the bashful smile I was talking about.
This summer we also had a chance to take the kids to the zoo! We went with the Gannaways. It was a lot of fun!
The first animal we saw was an elephant. When Nathan saw it his jaw kind of dropped, and he stared. I don’t think he knew that they were real before that.
After the zoo, we stopped at the This is the Place Memorial that is near by for lunch. There was an awesome view of Utah Valley from up there.
We also had a lot of fun visiting various parks. The swings are Dan’s favorite.
